About chair

Applied math chair was founded in 1996 after spllitting with Math chair. In the beginning it was the Phisics and Technology faculty subdivision. Lately it became the part of Information Technology faculty. In 1998 speciality "Applied math" with specialization "Mathematical modelling" was created. By this time there were nine graduations. Most of the students graduated with Excellent diplomas. Chair staff includes 9 Doctors of Physical and Mathematical sciences, professors, 7 Candidates of Physical and Mathematical sciences, assistant professors, head teachers and assistants. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical sciences, professor Uvarova Lyudmila Alexandrovna is the holder of chair. The lecturers of chair gives a course of lectures in branches of mathematics and programming like "Applied mathematics", "Discrete mathematics", "The theory of probability, mathematical statistics and stochastic process", "Equations of mathematical physics", "Mathematical logic and algorithm theory", "Program statistical complexes", "Parallel computing and transputer systems", "Computer architecture and system software", "Computer animation", "Mathematical modelling", "Open systems theory", "Stochastic analysis", "Difference equations" and others. Our publications of study guides for that courses: "Applied mathematics", "Discrete mathematics", "Distributed computing and networks", "Computing education technologies" and others.

Active science research is going in our chair in directions like: mathematical modelling methods and their computing realisation, mathematical modelling of physical phenomenons and processes, modelling of engineering systems, economics models, discrete models, parallel computing, modern methods of mathematical statistics and their applications.
Research advisors: chair holder, professor Uvarova L. A., professor Fedirko V. A., professor Sukov A. I., professor Kozlov V. N., professor Shetinin E. Y., professor Yakobovsky M. V., professor Kazakov O. A., assistant professor Eliseeva Y. V.
For many years we are doing scientific work cooperative with math chair, IT&CS chair, physics chair, Institute of mathematical modelling RAS, ICTI RAS, MIREA as part of early organised Educational-Scientific Center.
Collection of scientific works "Fundamental physico-mathematical problems and modelling of techno-technological systems".
Scientific work is in progress by government grant of Russian Fund of Fundamental Research. Scientific contacts are evolving with Institute of high-duty technique of the Technological university in Lisbon, university GRIFFITH in Australia, university in Kajaani (Finland).

Professor Sukov A. I. read lectures for students of that university twise.
In 2004 and 2008 professor Sukov A. I. and professor Uvarova L. A. participated in scientific conference about singular behavior, that was carried out on the base of Lisbon university, and in 2006, 2008 in national congress of Australian Institute of Physics. Professor Fedirko V. A. have a good contacts with foreign scientific schools of mathematical modelling in micro- and nano-systems. Our chair is one of providers of anniversaly open scientific conference MSTU "STANKIN", and also international conference of mathematical modelling(Moscow 2000, 2008. Dubna 2002. Nizhny Novgorod 2004).

Students, that specialize to speciality "applied mathematics", have the possibility of working with high-duty calculating technique in Center of collective using IMM RAS and proceed their graduate works under the direction of scientists of that academic institute, by virtue of scientific and educational contacts with Institute of mathematical modelling RAS.
Students have the possibility to proceed their payments under the direction of chair teachers in auditory that have annually appending calculating base.

Our chair contains the Master's programme of "Computer modelling".
Ten students defended a dissertation in that province. Most of them studying in postgraduate studentship on speciality 05.13.18 - "mathematical modelling, numerical methods and program complexes" in our chair.
